(April 23rd) Picture all the chocolate and beauty and happiness that happens on St. Valentines day. Now recreate that entire thing on April 23rd just to remember Saint George killing a dragon and saving a princess and her town. It’s traditional in Catalunya for boys to give girls roses and girls give boys books! There’s also chocolates and cakes don’t worry, Catalunya never misses a chance for sweets.
The Born neighborhood is freaking adorable. If you’re a hipster or enjoy laughing at hipsters you are going to love the Born. It’s nestled between the Gothic neighborhood, the Ciutadella Parc and the sea, and boy is it cute and cozy. There’s great tapas places here and petite artisian stores that are pricey but just adorable. It used to be quite seedy but now it’s trendy and expenisve to live here.
If you love Gaudí’s amazing architecture & can’t get enough, check out my friend Melissa Foryth’s photos: Gorgeous!
If you decide to date a Spaniard, there’s a good chance his family will cook Spanish food for you at least once a week. These are some of the dishes they will force feed you, and you won’t hate it!
Pan con tomate, paella made indoors and out, tortilla de patatas con setas, carts full of jamon, garlic covered fish and more!
